You meet trauma in the people you serve. Physicians, physical therapists, massage therapists, personal trainers, yoga teachers, and counsellors all sit with people who carry trauma. Few were trained to work with it.
Malachi Gillihan offers two ways to build that skill. A certification in trauma-informed care for healthcare settings, and professional workshops on supporting clients with histories of sexual trauma. Both are grounded in integrative trauma theory and nervous system education. Both are led by a Trauma Specialist whose work is informed by lived experience alongside years of study and research.
Both are taught in person right now. On-demand versions arrive in Spring 2027.

Trauma-Informed Care Certification
The Harmony Network of Trauma-Informed Healthcare Providers is built for healthcare practitioners and for practices that want to train their teams. It brings trauma-informed care into clinical and care settings.
Right now, Malachi teaches this in person. He covers the foundations of trauma theory and the core tenets of trauma-informed care, then shows your team how to put that understanding to work with the patients in front of them. You get tools and practices to use at both the staff and patient levels, client-facing materials, and access to the other providers in the network.
That in-person teaching is Level I. The on-demand version, a 90-minute Level I Primer, arrives Spring 2027. Two further levels build on it. Level II covers systemic trauma, racial trauma, and Complex-PTSD. Level III is case consultation, where you work through real client scenarios and get support applying the skills to your own caseload. Both are in development.
When your team works this way, two things move together. The people in your care feel safer and more willing to take part in their own treatment. And your providers feel more equipped, which shows up as steadier, more satisfying work.
Training for Healing Professionals
These professional workshops are for yoga teachers, wellness practitioners, and counseling professionals who want to work more skillfully with clients who carry histories of sexual trauma. The focus is narrow on purpose. You learn how to support these clients well.
Training covers the specific needs of sexual trauma survivors, working with male survivors of sexual trauma, how gender socialization shapes trauma and recovery, and simple practices you teach clients to use between and beyond sessions. The Yoga & The Sacred Wound workshop shows this work in practice.
These workshops are booked in person. Bring one to your studio, your practice, or your team. On-demand versions follow in Spring 2027.
Continuing Education Credits
Malachi is not an accredited CE sponsor, and no board has formally endorsed these sessions. Whether your hours convert to CE credit depends on the license you hold and how your board treats training with a qualified professional.
Yoga Alliance is the one route Malachi can confirm today. If you hold an RYT credential, you log these hours in your Yoga Alliance account as continuing education and report them yourself.
Every other license works the same way. Social workers, marriage and family therapists, psychologists, and clinical healthcare providers each answer to their own board, which decides whether the hours count. Malachi hasn't verified the requirements for each one. Confirm with yours before you register, then report your hours the way it asks.
Raise it when you get in touch. Malachi can give you a record of the hours you attended. What those hours count for is the board's call, not his.
Why Trauma-Informed Care Matters
Trauma shapes how people show up in a clinic, a studio, or a session room. The signs are easy to misread. When you understand what trauma is and how it lives in the nervous system, the people you serve feel safer and more able to take part in their own care.
The benefit runs both ways. When you feel equipped to meet trauma, the work holds more meaning. You carry less of the strain that comes from facing situations you were never trained for. That strain has a name in most practices. Fatigue, burnout, turnover. This training addresses it directly.
Why Train With Malachi Gillihan
Malachi Gillihan brings together two things that rarely sit side by side. Lived experience as a survivor and the depth of academic study. He understands trauma from the inside out as well as from the page.
He holds a Master of Arts in East-West Psychology and a Spiritual Counselor certification from the California Institute of Integral Studies, where he is now a PhD Candidate. His training includes study under notable figures in interpersonal neurobiology and trauma, including Dr. Dan Siegel and Deb Dana. That academic background is also what makes CE credit possible for the licensed professionals who train with him.
As founder of the Harmony Network of Trauma-Informed Healthcare Providers, he also co-chairs the Complex Trauma Special Interest Group within ISTSS. In 2024, he gave the closing keynote at the inaugural Conference on Violence Against Men and Boys. In 2026, he is presenting his research at several venues, including the APA Division 51 Conference on the Psychology of Men and Boys, the 37th Boston International Trauma Conference, and the 8th Annual International Complex Trauma Conference.
